“I used to hate the tempest because I can never rest. Even in my dreams, I am haunted by the anguished voices of those who were lost. I used to hate this world for being plagued with tragedy, and I hated myself for being too weak to change it. But weakness is temporary. It will pour from me like sweat and blood as I fight on. I will defeat the Interfecti and bring peace to the storm of screaming souls. Their lifeless eyes watch from the shadows and surrender the silent reminder of what I know I have to do. So with my strength as my weapon and their screams as my curse, I will banish all agony. I will fight until my last breath so that I can create a world without misery.”

    Hatasuko is a young man who suffered a traumatic loss at a young age when an Interfectus attacked his hometown in the Collobos Mountains. Until the attack, he lived a modest but comfortable life with his mother. During the onslaught, Hatasuko failed to save her from the first weapon of the Interfectus because he was too weak. But ever since the day he lost her, he became cursed to hear a tempest of screaming souls at every waking moment. He continuously hears the victims of everyone the Interfecti ever killed. However, he takes it upon himself to use his curse as a catalyst and embark on a quest to end the Interfecti. He swears that it is his duty and his destiny to create a world without misery.
    Because he can hear the tempest screaming in his head, Hatasuko has the unique ability to know where an Interfectus will attack in advance. For years after he lost his mother, he wandered Agrideī and confronted the monsters, using all his meager strength in an attempt to fight back.

Hatasuko's Astrodeus power allows him to suddenly command a tremendous amount of force, like a temporary flash of super-strength.

Sail-Rana (vehicle)

  A sail-rana is a vehicle invented by Vaida, although credited to Lazaro who sold the designs to merchants and engineers in  Agrideī . Although it can come in many different shapes and sizes, the core concept is a wheeled boat with a foldable mast and sail. When the sail is deployed, the passengers can catch the wind and roll northwestward over land, since this is the direction in which the wind normally blows. (See  Agrideī  for more information). The boat can also roll into the ocean or a river, where a sailor can choose to either row, ride the current, or continue sailing. Because the wind hitting the large sail (usually rectangular) tips the structure forward, it is advised that passengers sit in the back. A sail-rana has a steering wheel which tilts the wheels on land and the rudder in water.
