Interitus: Manifest Image Usage Statement
When we first began Interitus: Manifest as a game between friends, we used images which were AI-enhanced or AI-generated and then very heavily photoshopped. This continued when we decided to look for a game publisher, as these companies almost always use their own artwork on submitted card games anyway. Fast forward to the present, we now have a company sponsor who will produce/market/distribute the game. However, our card images still use these placeholders as they (and we) do not have the funds to replace them.
While we hope to transition these images to human-made artwork, financial constraints have prevented commissions for now. As per our mission statement, we are committed to providing an exciting game to customers for an affordable price. We do not currently have the funds to replace these images without increasing the cost to customers. Our hope is that down the line, we can use a portion of our profits to commission artwork of future cards (or future printings of old cards). We are already in talks with some artists; we simply need to build funds in order to achieve that.
As part of this project, one member of our team (Jordan Ashwood) has taken up traditional and digital art. He has already drawn some of the Sorcerers used in the game, but full replacement is not possible in the foreseeable future. Everyone who works on the project has a full-time job and ordinary-life responsibilities. Jordan enjoys drawing, but he'll be the first to tell you that each piece takes him a terribly long time--a consequence of being new to drawing. Please bear with us as we strive toward (eventually) having real artwork on the images for our cards.
