Felix Gonzales is a deeply religious man from a town in north Mexico where he is deeply respected, known for his selfless generosity. He had worked for decades as a mechanical engineer with a specialty in heat transfer systems, but he eventually quit his job after a moment of (what he would call) holy enlightenment. He gave away his money and belongings to the church, causing a rift between him and his wife (with whom he has a young daughter). She threw him out of their house in fear that he would give that away too, but he remains officially married to her even though they have little contact. Felix then wandered northern Mexico with his dog Skipper, working however he could to help the poor and support the church.
When he learned about the new prophetess with the power of Creation, Felix ventured into Mexico to swear his support to her. His history of service impressed Priest Antonius to the extent that he sent Felix to meet with Naomi, where he asked her to entrust him with the power of Thermodynamic Creation. He convinced her by saying that he would help her fight Destruction, and his interest in heat transfer meant that he would wield it with incredible strength. Naomi agreed, partially because she never used the ability to Create and/or transfer heat.
However, Felix had deceived her. Believing that both Creation and Destruction are pawns of the Devil, he convinced her to give him the power he needed to destroy her. He very nearly succeeded, and then he erected an ice wall to escape those who tried to protect her. He vowed to eliminate both Seth and Naomi; he even partnered with other like-minded people to help him pursue his targets.
Despite his ardent beliefs, Felix has no interest in entertaining religious debates. He generally accepts people with views wildly different than his own--even his own brother. He wastes no time on nonbelievers; he only wants to eliminate those who have received powers from the Devil.
