    “Vaida, do you remember? Do you remember that night in the hospital, after the Interfectus attacked and took everything from us? I saw you lying there in that bloody bed with the most pitiful sadness I’d ever seen. You had only one eye open, but they both stared dead ahead like there was nothing left in this world. I heard what had happened. I saw what the fire had done to your body. I could sense your sorrow just by standing in the same room as you. I could feel your misery like it was a part of me. I just started crying, and then I threw my arms around you. I remember it because that was probably the most sincere sadness I’ve ever felt. Do you remember?”

 Character Name: Harvey

First Appearance: A World without Misery (Chapter 7)

    Harvey is a young man (around Vaida's age) who was born and raised in Bones City (Agridei). He is Vaida's childhood friend, and he survived the Interfectus attack that destroyed the city and orphaned Vaida, leaving her burned. While she healed in a makeshift hospital from her extensive injuries, he visited her frequently. He cares deeply for Vaida, and she asserts that she only made it through those hard times because she had his support. Their friendship continued even when she left the hospital and went to the orphanage, and he watched her as she began her scientific investigations. He joined her as she prototyped her sail-rana, and he waved goodbye to her when she left to fight the Interfecti.

    After Vaida left Bones City, Harvey got a job at a piscileo factory, dragging large fish-like creatures. He lived with a close friend and coworker named Spencer, and they both grew considerably strong from their laborious jobs. Despite their friendship, Harvey grew miserable over the years, certain that he and Vaida were meant for each other. He showed no interest in other women, and he let his other friendships fall by the wayside. His love for Vaida grew into an obsession, to the extent that he believes her scars were meant to dissuade anyone else from falling in love with her. He believes that her scars are proof that she meant only for him.

SPOILERS BELOW (From Chapter 20 of A World without Misery):

    When Harvey drugged Vaida and explained his obsession to her, Hatasuko knocked him aside and threatened him (Chapter 13). But Harvey chose not to heed this warning. He convinced his only friend (Spencer) to leave Bones City with him, and together they stalked Hatasuko and Vaida across the continent. By closely watching their actions, Harvey learned how to create an Array of Black Fire and access his Astrodeus power. Harvey and Spencer attacked the canyon city of Lumipyla and evolved into Astrodei. They continued their onslaught, knowing that their target (Vaida) would eventually try to stop them.

Harvey's Astrodeus power allows him to suddenly unleash a cluster of blinding colorful energy beams.

Quintessence: 13

Weapons: Halberd

Astrodeus Power: Damage-Conduit Barriers (Type: Ventriloquist)

Spencer's Astrodeus power allows him to quickly create barriers to block attacks. He can then empower himself with the stolen impact and strike his enemy.
