The Interfectus




    “It is the most detestable being in the universe; it is the monster that cursed me with this symphony of screaming souls. It is the catalyst of agony and the emissary of darkness. Every heart has been scarred by its unacceptable existence. Every inch of this world has been soaked by the tears and blood left in its wake. It is the demon of flashing blades and shifting shadows – the nightmare known as the Interfectus.”   


  An Interfectus (plural: Interfecti) is a diabolical monster that plagues the world of Agrideī. It is an enormous shadow demon with a proclivity for striking cities and inflicting as much death as possible. They are sometimes called the demon of flashing blades and shifting shadows. Others refer to it as the emissary of darkness. In the continent of Agrideī, the Interfecti have brought humankind to the edge of extinction.

    Though their size and appearance vary, their attacks are accompanied by a transparent layer in the sky. This layer is their energy pool, and it undulates as they move. The body you see is the avatar of this energy, but it is malleable. It slowly regenerates its injuries, and it can change the shape of its arms and head. An Interfectus always has golden eyes, near-impenetrable armor, and the following weapons:

1) The first weapon of the Interfectus -- The blade-arm of shadows. An Interfectus can instantly transform its arm into a shadow sword, a shadow spear, or a shadow claw, which it can then launch down from the sky at an inescapable speed. This weapon practically cannot be blocked.

2) The second weapon of the Interfectus -- The shield of swirling shadows. An Interfectus can summon a vortex-like shield to deflect any strike, although this tool is not commonly employed. Because of its near-impenetrable armor, very few weapons could cause enough damage to warrant this.

3) The third weapon of the Interfectus -- The scattershot of shadow spheres. An Interfectus can create and unleash a cluster of spheres that detonate on impact. These spheres always erupt with blue fire, and a cluster of them can level an entire town. This is the monster's deadliest weapon, responsible for most of its kills.

Sail-Rana (vehicle)

  A sail-rana is a vehicle invented by Vaida, although credited to Lazaro who sold the designs to merchants and engineers in  Agrideī . Although it can come in many different shapes and sizes, the core concept is a wheeled boat with a foldable mast and sail. When the sail is deployed, the passengers can catch the wind and roll northwestward over land, since this is the direction in which the wind normally blows. (See  Agrideī  for more information). The boat can also roll into the ocean or a river, where a sailor can choose to either row, ride the current, or continue sailing. Because the wind hitting the large sail (usually rectangular) tips the structure forward, it is advised that passengers sit in the back. A sail-rana has a steering wheel which tilts the wheels on land and the rudder in water.
